Elizabeth Laishley
Elizabeth Laishley was the first wife of the Revd Alexander John Woodforde. They married on 11 January 1870 at Wincanton in Somerset.
They had seven children - Alexander, Robert, Reginald, Georgina, Harriet, Margaret and Katherine.



Elizabeth was born in the village of Shirley, west of Southampton on 5 February 1835 at Clarence Lodge, Millbrook, eighteen days after the death of her father, George New Laishley. Her mother was Martha Reynolds Barker.

Elizabeth married the Revd Alexander John Woodforde on 2 January 1870 at Castle Cary in Somerset. She died of tuberculosis in Lausanne on 5 February 1885, aged thirty five years. She was buried at Ansford on 12 February 1885.
